About Cancer Council Victoria
Our mission is to reduce the impact of all cancer for all Victorians through research, prevention, support and advocacy.
We fund more than $23 million on research into all types of cancers at Cancer Council Victoria and in medical institutions, hospitals and universities across the state.
We provide a range of services for cancer patients, and their families and friends including our information and support line Cancer Council 13 11 20, which can link people with support groups and pro bono services such as our financial and legal assistance programs.
Our early detection and prevention programs aim to help people quit smoking, protect themselves from the sun, eat healthier foods, engage in physical activity and get checked to reduce their risk of cancer.
We work with government and other organisations to improve cancer outcomes in all areas of cancer control such as research, patient transport assistance, and educational campaigns.
