"Almost all of us have been touched by Cancer in some way. It's everywhere!"
Having watched close family members and friends face cancer, Geraldine Ramondetta, Kate Vergers and Tracy Barry decided they wanted to do something to help.
Some have won their fight while others are no longer here to tell the story of their fight. We decided we wanted to make a difference and help Cancer Council raise much needed funds to help the fight against cancer."
The trio held a ball in Essendon with 225 people attending the event, which was filled with raffles, live auctions and lots of dancing.
An incredible $33,566.60 was raised on the night, which will fund a research award into less common cancers as part of Cancer Council's Forgotten Cancers Project.
"We were so lucky to have had so many people sponsor and support our event.
"We can't thank everyone enough for their support and look forward to doing it all again next year in 2016! Together we can make a difference!"
