1000 miles for Jezza

Corey Sleep - 1000 miles for Jezza

"My cousin and best mate Jezza died from bowel cancer - two weeks shy of his first wedding anniversary."

Corey and his cousin grew up together in country Victoria, playing football together and then moving to Melbourne.

Jezza lived with cancer for three and a half years before he died at the age of 42.

To honour his memory, Corey set himself a goal to run 1000 miles for Jezza before Christmas Day 2015.

After running up to 60 miles a week, he completed his goal on October 18 at the Melbourne Marathon.

His ambitious goal and tribute to his friend led to Corey raising $8000 for Cancer Council Victoria.

This money will be used to fund a research project and will be named in Jezza's honour.
